Shoes and a noteHe laid his head on his arm, staring at what he could see of the night through the window. He shook his head, attempting to get the messy black and orange hair out of his face. It fell back over his green eyes. The bus jolted to a stop. He looked at the sign at the front, lacking interest.
A pair of small, dirty red converse made their way down the aisle. He watched them, with the black fishnet stockings, pushing past the hordes. They stopped and stood at a pole several rows ahead of him.
He took his arm from the window and lifted his head, shifting his weight towards the aisle. She had a torn red side pack, which rested loosely on the hip of her plaid skirt. She had red hair, but he couldn't see her face. He closed his eyes and lay back against the hard seat.

So hello everyone. Those were my characters Calico and Jamie, if they were ever to not-quite-meet. I may continue that later on a rainy day. Anyway, I was considering putting my story up here. Some of my friends want to read it and I suppose this would be a way that they could. Here's a general plot description:
*fate :The story of Jamie, a girl that finds herself part of an underground world of what would commonly be considered magic (but is really an inherent connection to the forces of mother nature, a close bond which benefits both parties, in most cases). She learns that there is a very secretive government department which has its heart set on capturing and cloning said 'magic users', who the government refers to as 'genetically talented'. Nearby, a certain government doctor has already been dabbling in the art of human creation...
